Company History: Pushing Your Buttons was created in 2015 after founder Dan Hainsworth found himself working for his uncle in a famous design shop--while creative minds were working around him, nothing inspired Hainsworth more than the pixelated fandom buttons he made by hand there. For Hainsworth, they were a “Simple and small way to express yourself and show your interest”.

Pushing Your Buttons hit the market 6 months later in high demand, "I wanted to give the fans something else--something more!" said Hainsworth, "The buttons are individually hand made and are each made of the highest quality of button material--with their own individual style!"

'Pushing Your Buttons' could pay for your school!

Pushing Your Buttons is announcing some new plans that could pin education to your heart.

“It all started after declaring my major at Brigham Young University,” said founder, Dan Hainsworth, “I realized I was in class with peers who could not afford school. My own friends and classmates were diving deeper and deeper into debt to pursue an education they deserved.”

So Hainsworth took one of his poorest classmates, a boy named John Stevenson, under his wing. “I don't know why Dan chose me to help me with Pushing Your Buttons, but he told me it was because of my creativity and hard work,” said Stevenson. And hard work was needed—while Hainsworth worked with Stevenson's school and homework schedule, he was expected to work the same hours as a full time job. What Stevenson didn't know was that he was being paid double for every button created. “It was very stressful, but holding that new button and knowing it was a symbol of my heard work meant a lot to me,” John commented with a tear in his eyes.

After a summer of sweat and sacrifice, the Pushing Your Buttons surprised Stevenson during class with a check for $10,000. After applause and thanks, Dan Hainsworth signed the check, concluding that “its ultimately not about the money. Its about opportunity.”

Hainsworth's concerns have fostered a growing button contest where winners are awarded academic scholarships to help pay for school. On March 1, 2016, Pushing Your Buttons will begin receiving applications for your button ideas! Winners will be chosen by Hainsworth and will then be designed in the upcoming fall line. Five winners will also receive $10,000 scholarships to pay for school and books.
